PT Outreach and Marketing Manager


We are seeking an individual bringing diverse experiences and energy to make a difference locally at non-profit Grow It Green Morristown in New Jersey. Paid PT Outreach and Marketing Manager will plan and implement community building and communication efforts. Utilize your talents to create and build collaborative relationships with community members, partners, sponsors and donors to create sustainable food system solutions. Use communications skills and tools to spread messaging that expands awareness, engages the public, attracts new audiences, encourages multi-cultural participation, and generates sales for events / products.

This Manager must be aligned with our mission and values and committed to using skills to actively increase access and equity while growing community.


  • Networking and collaborating with community, local organizations and leadership

  • Use of tools including social media to build impact through communications

  • Managing newsletters and articles

  • Marketing of services and events


  • Devise and manage marketing initiatives, including traditional and digital media

  • Plan and develop communications.

  • Organize and maintain calendar of marketing activities

  • Utilize existing programs (Mailchimp, LGL, Canva, Google suite) to communicate message and increase reach and awareness

  • Take initiative to develop and stay current on innovative ways/programs to reach diverse audiences

  • Develop community relations with local and state organizations and alternative outreach sources.

  • Take pictures and create videos at all Grow It Green sites and events to prepare content and organize for later use.

  • Prepare and review newsletter and website

  • Assist with design and management of fundraising and programmatic events

  • Plan and administer community outreach and initiate new collaborations.

  • Represent and assist GIGM at events both on-site and within community.

  • Effectively and respectfully interface with outside partners, volunteers, sponsors, grantors, customers and community members free of stigma and judgement

  • Reviews projects across the organization to ensure proper grammar, accuracy, and meeting of style guidelines.

  • Collects and analyze data to improve quality and effectiveness of marketing.

  • Works with skilled volunteers to create marketing materials as needed



Experience and General Requirements

  • 4-year degree, preferably Marketing, Advertising or related field or Public Service/ Social Justice with emphasis on communications.

  • Minimum entry-level marketing experience with a preferred minimum of 2-4 years in coordinating marketing and outreach campaigns

  • Self-starter who can work independently in office and at outdoor sites as part of a team.

  • Organized with critical attention to detail

  • Strong communication, writing, and editing skills and confidence in oral communications for a variety of audiences including children

  • Willingness to adapt and pick up new techniques

  • Skills in graphic design, photography, and creativity

  • Proficiency with various social media platforms including Google+, Instagram, and Facebook

  • Interest and knowledge of current events and trends in line with organization’s mission

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish and ability to translate is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
Must possess the ability and capability to perform any task in the office. Must be able to lift 15 lbs, or more, be able to physically move through the office and farm/garden sites unaided and work outside as needed.

Job Schedule and Requirements:

This is a paid part-time position, working 15 flexible hours per week available immediately.

$15/ hour plus a share of produce during the season.
