"Thank you for having Grow It Green the other day. Emma came home wanting kale and peppers. I could never get her to eat those. Victory."

Woodland Elementary Parent

We greatly appreciate all of the time, energy, excitement, passion, and care that Farmer Kim puts into each and every lesson throughout the entire school year. She has helped the students learn so much and has “planted seeds” that will continue to grow well beyond the classroom.

We had so much fun at your garden. Thank you for letting us pet the chickens. Thank you for letting us plant holes and plant cucumbers. Thank you for letting us taste asparagus and spinach. We liked it! We like your soil. We love you!

Lessons at the farm

We love having students join us at the farm for a variety of lessons and activities. A visit to the farm includes a tour, taste of seasonal vegetables and meeting our beloved friendly chicken, Amelia. Additional themes and games can be added to your trip depending on the length of the visit and desired experience.

Classroom lessons and school gardens

Farmer Kim meets with about 500 preschool and 2nd graders every month to teach hands-on lessons about plants, food, and the environment. Students grow their own seedlings in class and plant them in their school gardens where students, faculty, and staff can enjoy delicious vegetables.

Group visits

Grow It Green hosts visits to the farm for groups like Girl Scout troops and homeschooling co-ops. Visits include an educational tour of the farm, tasting of the seasonal vegetables we're growing, and meeting our chickens. Visit may also cover a specific topic like food insecurity, biodiversity, plant anatomy, etc. to best suit the group's needs.
