college collaborations

College Internships
For college students with a desire to learn more about growing food and stewardship of land, this is a rare opportunity to gain insight and experience into the field of small-scale, regenerative farming with our experienced, hardworking team of farmers. Interns become an integral part of the team, growing and harvesting produce, working on major projects around the farm, and leading volunteers.

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering at the Urban Farm and Early Street Community Garden affords college students a chance to connect with their environment and community. Requiring a very different set of skills and demands than their academic efforts, working outside is a much needed respite from their ordinary routines and a fun hands-on experience.

Community Based Learning courses and Action Scholars from Drew University
Drew University's Community Based Learning courses bridge the gap between content in the classroom and the real world. Drew students in Food Justice and Agroecology classes are able turn theory into action at Grow It Green, tackling massive social issues like food insecurity or scientific techniques like soil science.
We collaborate with Drew University's Action Scholar Program to give students hands-on volunteering experiences and connect them to the community in which their college resides. Action Scholars are part of a two-year program that collaborates with local organizations to give students the opportunity to see and participate in local action efforts.
